Richard Ingley is the son of the Reverend and Mrs. C. F. Ingley. His dad was engaged in the ministry of Jesus Christ for over 65 years.
Richard accepted the Lord and was called to the ministry as a teenager. Preparing himself for ministry he attended Southern Bible College in Houston, Texas, receiving the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Christian Education and a five-year Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) degree. After completing those studies, he attended the Graduate School of Theology at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he obtained a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree.
Richard ministered in Jamaica for several years overseeing 45 churches. He was president of a Bible college which trained many national leaders and has seen many graduates take their ministry to England, Canada, the United States, and other islands of the Caribbean.
Since returning to the United States he has ministered from coast to coast in churches, Bible colleges, and Christian television. In the Tampa Bay area he directed a 24 hour counseling ministry on a leading television station. After pastoral ministry in Florida and California, he has returned to his first love, ministering in local churches across the country.
As a boy of eleven Richard developed a love for the steel guitar. Recognizing this, his dad purchased him a small lap model on which to learn. He now plays a professional GFI pedal steel guitar formerly belonging to and played by his all time hero steel guitar player, Ralph Mooney, who is a member of the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. Mr. Mooney, who is famous for playing for people such as Buck Owens, Wynn Stewart and Waylon Jennings, specifically requested the instrument be made available to Richard. Many people are blessed by and think Richard's steel guitar playing adds much to his ministry. Ingley considers his music to be a very important part of his ministry.
